Chapters 1 - 57
Surah Fatiḥa - the first surah of Qur‘an - can be found at the bottom of this document, transliterated from Arabic or rather Romanised. But before we get there, I presented you with a list of all the Qur‘anic Surahs denoting the number of verses in each. However, I have only listed Surahs 1-57 in this document followed by 58-114 the successive blog. I purposely divided the list of 114 Surahs to limit the length of the blog document, since I intend to present things in bite sized chunks.

COLOUR CODING
The transliterated numbered text in Surat-ul Fatiḥa below contains light blue characters with a strikethrough line, to indicate that they should not be pronounced. The remaining black text is what should be read.
The darker blue bracketed text below, is an example of how it needs to be pronounced. An attempt should be made to elide the words, so that it forms continuous speech. Looking at line 1, -blue letters between brackets -, Bismil ends with an L and lahir stars with an L.
This places the tongue in the correct position to joint the two words together as one unit of speech. Likewise lahir ends with an R and rahmaanir starts with an R, once again placing the tongue in the right position join the two words together as one unit of speech.
Then again rahmaanir ends with an R and raheem starts with and R. If these four words in line 1 can be said as continuous speech, then it is said correctly and known as tajweed. The L's and R's are the consequence of Shadda, which will be explained in later blogs.
NB! The letter R is a trilling R, like in the words, warring, worry, rugby, marrow, orange and rough and never the R in words like far, car, careless and bear. You will also notice a number 3 in line 2, line 5 and line 7 in place of a letter. Please refer to the "legend" (blog 4) for its usage and clarification for the letter H in Rahmaan and Raheem.
In Line 4 and line 7 you will encounter two words in each ending with the letter D and the following word starting with a D. As previously explained, it placed the tongue in the correct position which theoretically makes Arabic easy to pronounce because the tongue twisting and vocal gymnastics have been simplified by its syntax that is relatively easy to master in a very short length of time.
